About me
I’m a highly experienced specialist safeguarding consultant with 20 years’ experience of keeping organisations and the people they serve safer.
Using a systemic approach, I can provide you with clear advice, guidance and processes that are embraced by your people across your organisation and integrated into all your functions. This work spans governance, assurance, policy, learning and development, safer recruitment and what to do when there are allegations against staff or sub-contractors. These areas align to support in building a safer safeguarding culture with simple healthy safeguarding habits that increase psychological safety for staff and assurance for the board and senior leadership.

People are often scared of safeguarding, seeing it as complex, overwhelming, or worry that mistakes could lead to serious consequences. At Safer, I work with you to reduce the fear from safeguarding by helping you to create psychologically safe environments, and making it practical, effective, and integrated into the everyday fabric of your organisation.
By working with me, your team will gain the knowledge and confidence to handle safeguarding effectively and calmly, reducing fear and hesitation.
Between my first role in operational frontline services and my time in senior leadership, I have worked closely with most organisational departments. This means my experience spans strategy and governance, regulation, policy, learning and development and business development.
I have experience developing safeguarding approaches for adults and children in a wide range of contexts, including domestic abuse, criminal justice, homelessness, modern slavery, county lines, child exploitation and prevent.
